The Recipe for More Confident Parenting.

UNDERSTAND & SUPPORT YOUR CHILD'S NEEDS WITH OUR SIMPLE MONTHLY FRAMEWORK

We know that humans have basic physical needs for food, water, sleep— and that our children struggle if they don’t get healthy levels of each.

But 40+ years of research in the field of psychology says that humans ALSO have three basic psychological needs that must be met in order to bring out the best in us as well.

We call these the three C's:

CONNECTION

I belong to and am a valuable, contributing member of this community.

CHOICE

I can make decisions about the things I do or what happens to me.

COMPETENCE

I can learn new things and get better at them with practice.

Most conventional parenting strategies ultimately fail because they are based on short-term control that undermines children's feelings of connection, choice, and competence, creating a vicious cycle where problems come back even stronger than before.

What if we could eliminate a whole lot of future parenting problems just by being proactive with meeting these psychological needs from the start?

Hi! I'm Alexis.

Or Alex.  Or Ali... depending on how you know me.  If we’re just meeting- pick your favorite!

I was a teacher for 10 years and have a Master’s in Elementary Education and a certification from the Association Montessori Internacionale.

In my 8th year of teaching I massively struggled with the disengagement and behavior challenges of my 3rd graders.

This led me to the research on how these three psychological needs— connection, choice and competence— are the foundation for human happiness, motivation, and well-being.

And not surprisingly, they are in short supply in the traditional way we do school.

Four years ago I teamed up with my EDVOLUTIONARY co-founder Annie to build a roadmap for how to meet these three needs in the classroom, and the transformation in student engagement and achievement we started seeing was profound.

So naturally, when my son Wyatt was born last year, I started wondering: what would meeting these three needs look like at each age and stage of his development— from baby to young child?

That question is at the heart of our monthly membership: EDVOLUTIONARY Parent

Each month I'll share what we're doing to meet the 3C Needs through the lenses of Wyatt's developmental stages up until he's five years old.

If you want to...

  • Feel confident you are meeting your child's evolving needs without spending hours on research each month

  • Know you are investing your limited and valuable time on the activities that will best support your child's development & well-being

  • Proactively rather than reactively parent to make the journey smoother and less challenging in the long run

We'd love to have you on the journey with us as a founding parent!
